Youth Plan Action Day - 16 November 2016

We believe in Europe, and we believe in Youth

Our first Action Day to campaign for a Youth Plan took place on 16 November 2016 and it was a success, with more than 110 events in 83 cities in 30 countries!

Check all the PHOTOS and VIDEOS and our GIANT FAMILY PHOTO.

We are putting forward a campaign for a European Youth Plan to ensure every single child and young person get a chance at bright future – through high quality education, decent jobs, ensuring children’s rights and giving access to culture to the youth.

In order to make pressure for change, we will take it to the streets on 16 November.

  • If you think that our youth deserves a better future
  • If you think that children should have access to free healthcare checks and quality meals in schools
  • If you think that good education should be a right for all regardless of their origins
  • If you think access to culture for young people should be a priority

Then join us on 16 November in a city close to you!

Nicolas Schmit and Pervenche Berès write to European Commission: more funding for Youth Guarantee

Nicolas Schmit and Pervenche Berès – respectively chair of the PES EPSCO Ministerial Network and chair of the PES Social Europe Network – pleaded for more funding for the European Youth Guarantee in a joint letter to Commissioner Marianne Thyssen and Vice-President Kristalina Georgieva.

No matter what, we believe in youth and we believe in Europe!

In days like today, in the aftermath of the Brexit vote and the US presidential election, believing in doing the right thing may seem difficult.

Portugal leading in number of events for the Youth Plan Action Day

We believe in Europe and we believe in Youth! And there’s one place where that is felt more strongly so far…Portugal!

A picture is worth a thousand words

Would you demonstrate for a progressive Europe? We will gather the crowd for you, for a true online demonstration, under the motto Act For Youth! If so – do it with your picture. As they rightfully say - a picture is worth a thousand words.

Our idea is this: you meet a couple of friends and take pictures of the bunch on a stairway, the only thing you need to take care of is that you are all lined up so you can take part in the biggest family picture ever!

Stanishev, Pitella, Slimani plead for sufficient funding for Youth Guarantee

We believe in youth, we believe in Europe! And we want to create jobs and opportunities for young people.

Our President Sergei Stanishev, the President of the S&D Group in the European Parliament Gianni Pittella and Laura Slimani, President of the Young European Socialists, have written to the President of European Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker, asking to secure appropriate funding for the European Youth Guarantee for the period 2016-2020.

Meet our European Youth Plan Ambassadors from all over Europe

We believe in youth, we believe in Europe and we are ready to say it out loud! The Party of European Socialists is launching a Europe-wide event on November 16 to support our European Youth Plan, our policy plan aimed at helping out the younger generation of Europeans in this time of crisis and uncertainty. We want to offer alternatives in different areas: jobs, education and culture and we want to protect the most vulnerable, the children, through a ‘child guarantee’, which can protect them from the worst effect of the conservative-led austerity policies pursued in the last years.

16 November – The European Youth Plan Action Day!

Do you think youth deserves a better future? Do you agree austerity has limited the possibilities for young people? Then you should join our European Youth Plan Action Day. It is on 16 November 2016.

The Party of European Socialists and the Young European Socialists are calling all our members, partners, activists and supporters to join the Action Day and raise awareness about our European Youth Plan.
