We believe in youth and we believe that every child and young person should be given all the chances to succeed.

This is why we are calling for a European Youth Plan based on four pillars - youth guarantee, Erasmus for all, culture cheques and a child guarantee - to provide a better future for our youth and for the European Union.

No matter what, we believe in youth and we believe in Europe!

In days like today, in the aftermath of the Brexit vote and the US presidential election, believing in doing the right thing may seem difficult.

Portugal leading in number of events for the Youth Plan Action Day

We believe in Europe and we believe in Youth! And there’s one place where that is felt more strongly so far…Portugal!

A picture is worth a thousand words

Would you demonstrate for a progressive Europe? We will gather the crowd for you, for a true online demonstration, under the motto Act For Youth! If so – do it with your picture. As they rightfully say - a picture is worth a thousand words.

Our idea is this: you meet a couple of friends and take pictures of the bunch on a stairway, the only thing you need to take care of is that you are all lined up so you can take part in the biggest family picture ever!

Stanishev, Pitella, Slimani plead for sufficient funding for Youth Guarantee

We believe in youth, we believe in Europe! And we want to create jobs and opportunities for young people.

Our President Sergei Stanishev, the President of the S&D Group in the European Parliament Gianni Pittella and Laura Slimani, President of the Young European Socialists, have written to the President of European Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker, asking to secure appropriate funding for the European Youth Guarantee for the period 2016-2020.

A "European Culture Cheque": Culture has a transformative power that can help promote social cohesion, solidarity and the engagement of the young in solving social problems. We want young people to have critical thinking, to develop their own ideas, to be independent, creative and able to understand the complexity of the world by themselves...

A permanent European Youth Guarantee: The Youth Guarantee is a European initiative launched by the European Union in April 2013, thanks to the Party of European Socialists. It consists on the guarantee that all young people finishing their education will be offered a job, apprenticeship, traineeship or opportunity for continued education within a four month period, after finishing school or losing their job...

Erasmus for all: The iconic Erasmus international exchange programme is undoubtedly a great example of how Europe can bring added value to its citizens. It is one of the EU’s success stories, offering life-changing exchange opportunities to young people, opening up their minds and helping them build both their European citizenship and future career...

Introducing a European Child guarantee : Children are one of the most vulnerable groups in the face of economic hardship. More than 1 in 4 children in the EU are at risk of poverty or social exclusion. We think they shouldn’t bear the consequences of the crisis and can no longer tolerate this situation.
